Sidney Bristow, of Alias, is always talking about "compartmentalizing" her emotions.
That's what I have to do today, because I've just learned that my Sadie died in her sleep last night. I knew she was feeling her age, and she was not feeling well when I left home, but still it came as a surprise . . . and I'm sorry I wasn't home. But if she has to go, I'd rather she go in her sleep than me having to make the choice to put her down.
So--I'm speaking in schools today, this afternoon, and tonight, so I'll concentrate on the students and try not to think about home. But it won't be easy.
Ask the animals, and they'll tell you about God. It's the premise of my novel UNSPOKEN, and it's the truth.

{{{{{Angie}}}}} I'm sorry to hear Sadie's gone on ahead. Losing a furbaby hurts like nothing else on earth. She was blessed to have such a wonderful hu-mom. Many fur-vent prayers that God will shower you with special love and mercy during this difficult time.

My heart hurts just reading your words, for they remind me of stroking my beagle, Hercules, while the vet put him to sleep. Though the moment took place 20 years ago, I can still feel the grief and guilt. Like all grieving, though, the depth comes from the greatness of the relationship. So, in the midst of your sadness, I pray God will fill your mind with happy memories and your heart with gratitude for the years of His blessing called Sadie.

Angie,sorry about Sadie. I still remember the stories of your first mastiff when I attended the youth group what seems like many moons ago. I admit,I'm a country music fan and if you listen to any,Kenny Chesney has a new song out. Reading your blog,I know it can hurt to lose a love one,but what many memories you'll always carry of watching her grow...with all the good and bad idosyncrosies(did I spell that right?). God Bless

There is something so priceless and pure about your love for animals. I have loved your dog through your comments about her, and I am so very sorry for your loss.
