Glen Eyrie Writers' Workshop

Let me just take a moment to go into more detail about the Glen Eyrie Writer's Workshop.  It will begin on Sunday afternoon, and go through Wednesday mid-afternoon, April 27-30.  We will have four tracks:  General freelance writing, public speaking, screenwriting, and fiction.  We will have four teachers:  Alton Gansky, Kathryn Mackel, Nancy Rue, and myself.  The four of us do a little bit of everything and it's truly a team effort.

I don't think you'll find a workshop like this one.  It's not filled with agents and editors, so there's no need to try to impress anyone.  :-)  It's a time to learn and to write and to get feedback, and the atmosphere is friendly and fun.

Plus, where else do you get to stay in a real castle?  Nancy and I have led this workshop for two previous years, and it's always been a wonderful experience.  So if you're interested, here's the link to sign up.  The conference schedule you'll see on the site is bare bones only--we'll explain more when everyone arrives. We try to be flexible so everyone gets what they need out of our time together.  (We're not going to edit your book for you, but we want to give you the tools so you can do it!)

That was fast! Thank you for the clarification.

I've got to pray about this first. I hope the Lord says, "yes!" :)

If anyone's on the fence about this workshop, I urge you to do yourself a favor and attend. I went last year and loved every minute of it. I hope to join in the fun again this year, budget permitting.

A prisoner of hope,
Megan

PS: While I was at Glen Eyrie last year, I realized that Angie and Nancy had become my writing fairy godmothers. They've been a tremendous blessing to me personally and to my writing career. If it wern't for them, I may never have gotten my glass slippers. But I have, and now I'm at the ball!

:)

Thanks, Megan, for the endorsement! And I suppose I should introduce the people in that picture--from left to right, that's Becky Gansky (Al's wife), me, Nancy Rue, Megan di Maria, and Al Gansky. Kathy Mackel must have been off talking with someone. :-)

I am signed up!
Keep in mind, it can still snow the end of April! Pack layers.

I'm looking forward to it!

Wish I could be there... Angela was a great speaker at the ICWF conference last September in Edmonton (one of the best I've heard in eight years of going to that conference). Best of luck to all of you at Glen Eyrie.

Angie, I just looked at the Glen Eyrie website and it looks like a wonderful retreat/conference center. Do you think it would work for a future Heavenly Daze yearly reunion?

Sounds great! :) No pressure, no pitching, and lots of hands-on stuff. Plus, I love the fact it's in Colorado. I was thinking of going to a different conference (a large one in March), but this will be better for me. I'm going to register soon. :)
