I'm posting a picture of a tree that epitomizes at lot of things in life: feast or famine. (And a random picture of a lily.)
This tree, called an Angel's Trumpet (Brugmansia), is either the loveliest thing in my yard or the ugliest. When it's in flower, it's beautiful. When it's not, it's a knobby, scrawny, baldish looking thing.
The other day it was in the latter condition and I offered my neighbor a cutting. He looked at it, made a face, and said he'd get back to me later. He never did. But then it bloomed. :-)
So the moral of this story is . . . in time, it blooms. Hang in there through the scrawny days.
I'm heading out of town today--going to spend a few days in Chicago, working on a project. Will be in touch later. :-)

Careful: Angel's Trumpet is poisonous to dogs!
I have never seen a tree like that! It is beautiful!!
I guess they're pointing down because the angels are blowing the trumpets toward earth?!
Beautiful lilies!!
Have a safe and productive trip to the Windy City!
I've never seen or heard of Angels Trumpet before, what an amazing tree/flower.
Okay, so that and the funky midnight bloomer....what other cool plants do you own?
I've got a Begonia that I've kept alive for a year. LOL. It was a Mother's Day gift from my daughter in 2008.
