In Your Deepest Heart, How Old Are You?

Hello! You may have noticed that 1) I'm running some reruns on this blog until the BOM and 2) my internet access is sporadic. This is because I'm 1) in Europe 2) at sea and 3) have been as sick as the proverbial dog. Take one migraine, add one sleepless transatlantic flight, and toss in a stormy crossing of the Bay of Biscay (sp?), and you have one day spent totally inside the cabin. :-) But now, I am thrilled to report, I am well, head is clear, sea is calm, and Espana es muy bonita! Hubby and I spent the day touring Bilboa, and I've even put my fledgling Spanish to good use--even in an area where the major language is Basque. And the food--let's not even talk about it. Honestly, I wish I were travelling with my dogs, because there would be enough to feed me and both of them!

In any case, on to the rerun of the day. I am going to try to keep up, but can only get online when we are close to a port. Tomorrow? France!

~~Angie

I clearly remember one afternoon when I was about ten . . . I was in the car with my mother, getting ready to go to a Girl Scout meeting, and I was reading a biography of Catherine the Great. The book said this: "At thirty, Catherine was in the prime of her life."

Stunned and surprised, I looked up and read the sentence to my mother.

"So?" she asked. "I'm thirty. Don't you think I'm in the prime of my life?"

I didn't have the heart to tell her, but nooooo, I thought thirty was OLD. One-foot-in-the-grave-old.

Now, of course, I've changed my mind. "Old" is always at least thirty years older than I am. (VBG)

Anyway, I found this little meme, and it says I'm 31 at heart. I like that because it puts me in the prime of my life.

Because I'm on vacation, here goes--how old are you REALLY?
You Are 31 Years Old

Under 12: You are a kid at heart. You still have an optimistic life view - and you look at the world with awe.

13-19: You are a teenager at heart. You question authority and are still trying to find your place in this world.

20-29: You are a twentysomething at heart. You feel excited about what's to come... love, work, and new experiences.

30-39: You are a thirtysomething at heart. You've had a taste of success and true love, but you want more!

40+: You are a mature adult. You've been through most of the ups and downs of life already. Now you get to sit back and relax.

I loved your blog today! It's funny since I'm 29,but been told act much older, but when people meet me,very rarely do they guess my true age. Many a people say I've been blessed with looking so young, but it's still frustrating when I do dress up to "look my age" and asked if I'm just out of high school.Guess it'll come to use when I'm 60ish and can maybe pass for 30ish...I can only hope.LOL

I experience the same thing Melissa! Although not as much lately, but for a long time people thought I was younger than my sister (who is five years younger than me!) It runs in the family - people rarely believe my mom has a daughter my age; she tells me I'll appreciate it in a few years!

It says I'm 21. Boy, I've actually matured a lot in the last few months. Last time I took this, I believe it said I was 11! LOL
In truth I'm 41.

According to this, I'm nineteen trapped in a sixty-year-old body. HELP!
Have great fun on the trip, Angie. Wish you make ACFW conf in Sept.

We're twins! I'm 31 too! But only according to the quiz. I'm really coming up on 47. Sorry you had a hard time with travel, but I'm glad you're feeling better now. Will you cross into France via mountains or sea?

Maybe I should take hubby out and kick up my heels - I'm 34!!!! Let's see the last time I was 34 was almost that many years ago. Too bad my body doesn't agree with my mind.

It says I'm 35 so that means I'm roughly three years older than I act. Oh well, at least it was close!

So close. It says 28; I'm 29!

Okay, I was already miserable about being thirty. Now I discover that I act even older than I am. 34!!!!
ARGHHH!!!! The despair!

Reminds me of a conversation I had with this adorable little Buddhist woman in a Hawaiian lunch room. She stood on her tiptoes, peered into my eyes, and whispered, "You have an old soul."

To which I wanted to reply, "Sister, you have NO idea."
