If you saw a novel titled GHOST by yours truly, would you want to read it?
(I'm really asking if you'd trust me enough to know it's about more than things that go bump in the night.)
~~Angie, noodling on a new idea
P.S. For your entertainment, check out this link. Hilarious!

Yes, I would. On the heels of some Funeral Home stories that would be perfect!
ReplyDeleteReally, it would intrigue me a lot.
No, I wouldn't. I think the average Christian in a Christian bookstore wouldn't buy abook about "ghosts".
ReplyDeleteI would be in a hurry to purchase that one:). First - I DO trust you. Second - sounds a bit like a Gansky edge and I love that:).
ReplyDeleteI would laugh out loud and say "Angie, I love your mind."
ReplyDeleteI completely trust you to take me someplace interesting with that one. And - and this is maybe more telling - I trusted you that way before I had met you in person.
Sincerely,
Susan Plett
Absolutely! You're one of the few novelists that I'd read anything by. The ghost thing wouldn't make me shy away because I know you'd have a good slant on it and it wouldn't be anything bizarro-devilish because you are a daughter of the King and you don't write that way.
ReplyDeletewell since I read everything that has your name on it, i'd get it!
ReplyDeleteas for the random book browser, i think it would have to depend on what the cover looked like.
Yes, I would. And to answer Anonymous, I'm sure a lot of people thought that the average Christian wouldn't purchase most things Ted Dekker writes - but many of them do.
ReplyDeleteThere's a lot of otherworldly-sounding titles coming out lately. A ghost book would fit right in.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, who doesn't trust you?
most definitely (of course, I'd read anything by you!)
ReplyDeleteAidrian Plass has a book called Ghosts (its a Christian novel)
Blessings,
K
absolutely yes! yes! yes!
ReplyDeleteDefinitely! Sounds intriguing. :)
ReplyDeleteI think you might even gain some new readers with that.
ReplyDeleteI will admit I am a bit put off by the book title Demon. Even though I have heard great things about that book. I don't like the idea of demons being glorified in any way and it kind of strikes me like that.
But I think I will read that book, even though I've not read anything by that writer before, just because of the good things I have heard about it.
So, my point for you, I guess, is that great reviews and word of mouth count for a lot, as you know. I think you should definitely go for it!
After reading so many books by you, I have learned to Trust your writing. Absolutely would read it. Just received the tape on Marriage, which I plan to enjoy as I drive "over the river and through the woods" to my daughter's on Thursday! Clyde
ReplyDeleteAngie, Coral Moon was my ghost book, although the title didn't give that away. It's doing fine in sales. Did make the bestseller list.
ReplyDeletePoint is readers may not be bothered by your content, because I'm sure you'd handle it correctly. But would you want a title that might put some people off? Perhaps it would be worth it simply to change the title to something less controversial. Give folks the chance to buy the book and read it before they make judgments.
I found an above comment very telling--the one about the novel Demon. The commenter was put off because she doesn't want to see demons "glorified" in any way. My goodness, what a wrong judgment of that book! It's a good thing she's willing to read it anyway because of its great reviews. If she wasn't so open-minded, she'd miss a great book just because of the title. I wouldn't want that to happen to any book of yours. They're all so worth reading.
