Something new from Britain . . .

Check out this new talent from across the pond--I'm ready to buy their album!

Speaking of electric instruments, yesterday we had a power outage--something about a fire at one of the substations in town.  The power went off at about 4:45 p.m., and stayed off until after eight.  We managed fine, at first, but by seven o'clock, the house was getting a little warm and I was running out of things to do--things that didn't involve a power outlet, that is.  I had resorted to mopping the floors when the power came back on, but boy, was I grateful!

  1. I've been known to read by candlelight during a power outage. Boy, I don't know how those people managed in the old days. I guess that's why they went to bed early.

  3. Mopping? You were desperate! :-) Glad you've got your power back.

My daughter plays viola and loved watching that link!

  5. Wow! Those girls are great.
When our girls were little, the power went out one summer for hours and hours. We ended up sitting in the mini-van with the air on, letting them watch the portable dvd player, just to get some relief. Hey, you do what you have to!

As a one-time violin player, I greatly appreciate their sound and their talent. WOW! Wonder how they finished in this competition ... or is it over yet?

Re - Power outages: we had one in my neighborhood recently. After enjoying watching the sun set with two neighbors and a bottle of wine, I did what I used to do as a kid when I was sent to bed. Got my strongest flashlight, grabbed my latest book and crawled under the covers. It still worked! Of course, I didn't have the thrill of trying to hide this activity from my parents this time. =) Clyde

  7. Up to now, I admired your imagination, but mopping the floor? I think you just lost my vote! ;-)
