My New Challenge

. . . is to lose about fifty pounds. Yes, really. (Being tall allows me to disguise a multitude of excess pounds.)

I debated sharing this on my blog--after all, if I fail to meet my goals, that could be humiliating--but on the other hand, public humiliation might also prove highly motivational!

I've lost these pounds a few times before. Years ago, I lost 40 of them with Weight Watchers. Time passed.

About five years ago, I lost sixty pounds on L.A. Weight Loss. Time passed.

And now the years have passed and I find myself with a closet full of darling clothes that don't fit any more. Time for another "eating plan," but I always need something new to keep my interest.

So I have a pantry and freezer full of Jenny Craig products. I also have two secret pals (I'm not going to out them on my blog), who are doing this with me. They'll finish long before I will, but here we go!

  1. Good luck Angie. Those dreaded lost pounds eventually find their way back to all of us, so you're not alone with that one :)

I feel your pain. Need a jolt of "Motivating Factor" myself, and the Dazer cruise is too far away! Maybe I'll pretend it's next month. =) Clyde

  3. You go, girl! I need to get with it and lose about 30 myself. Since I always had a metabolism that allowed me to eat what I wanted and never gain wait, the years since age 40 have been a rude awakening.

  4. My last motivation was the Music Boat in May. I haven't been watching what I eat or working out since then. Add to that major surgery where I've since been sitting around recovery on my duff, and eating all manner of chicken casseroles brought to me. Not a good combo! As soon as my 8 weeks of recovery are up, I'm going to start running again. With pals to help keep you accountable, you'll do just fine!

I have lost almost 30 pounds and hope to lose at least 30 more before the HD cruise. With my husband out of work for over year we drastically reduced our eating out. Plus lots of tuna fish sandwichs and scrambled eggs, cheap but healthy food. And my oven died so I can't bake goodies!

I need to lose some, but I don't want to.

Good for you, Angie. When you said yesterday you'd announce a new project today, this wasn't what I expected. But framing it that way is so accurate. Losing it requires focus and intentionality. And prayer!

I'll pray along with you, as I'm doing the same. Ditto that age/metabolism thing Linda mentioned, plus knees that holler at me. But I'm finding ways. Have lost almost 18, have another 37-40 to go.

    God bless,
    Mary Kay

  8. You can do it. My wife has lost 50 pounds. I'm so proud of her. I'm down 12 on my way to losing 50.

  9. I'll join you in this effort, Angie. So far, I've lost about 4 pounds on my quest to lose 50. It's hard but I know that it'll be worth it!

  10. I wish the Jenny Craig food was more affordable to me or I'd join in with you. I really stink at doing my own meal plans because I'm so picky and a moody eater.

I wish you much success on your quest Angela! Way to go!
