The Mystery Monkey

If this is Friday, I'm flying out today and heading for Indiana and Taylor University, where I'll be teaching a class on women's fiction throughout the fall on sporadic Saturdays. I'm hoping for cooler weather. :-) .

Onto the news at hand: For some time now, our area has had a mystery monkey on the loose. He's a rhesus macaque, but no one knows where he came from. Apparently, though, he's lonely, and we're all beginning to feel sorry for him. This photo was snapped this week--apparently the little guy found this mirrored cube and sat next to it for quite a while, thinking it was another monkey.

Our paper has even set up a website where you can report sightings of the money and back up your report with a photo.

I haven't seen him yet. My neighborhood is very dense, and we don't have a lot of trees or foliage for a monkey to hide in. No mirrored cubes, either.

But if you see him . . . well, you know what to do. :-)

So has anyone made any cracks about a missing link?!

Our weather here in Northwest Indiana is beautiful today. Hope it's the same where you're headed.
