Snake Robot

At first I kept asking myself why anyone would build this, and the answer is supposedly because this little guy can go where other robots can't. But the place where I regularly use a "snake" is my toilet or other plumbing fixture, and somehow I doubt that this guy is waterproof . . . but if he is, can he have a little spinning blade on his nose to clean out my drain pipes?

At first glance I thought it was a bunch of soda cans connected together!

I saw a video one time where they use trained rats to run cable through ceiling and wall spaces for computers, etc.
That is probably what they have in mind.
Or it would make a fun toy!

This guy IS waterproof...they said it could swim. And I'm sure they could provide a gizmo for its nose if you wanted to clean out your plumbing. However, I rather doubt that was the first choice of the inventors. Rather, it seems to me this robot would be perfect for wiggling in and around debris while looking for victims of a disaster. (I'm thinking earthquake, explosion, etc.) Who knows? Maybe someday this robot will be ordinary and run-of-the-mill in our daily lives.

I think that viewing "creations" such as this are good eventually. Once I get over the "why would you want to take all the time and money and whatever else to do that?" side of it, I must stop and marvel at Father's endless creativity and diversity... Oh, that He might be truly glorified by all the HE has ultimately done!!!

I do stand in awe of Him. Just not near often enough.
